Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The goal of this course for each student is:
To learn data and database concepts, and SQL for structural data within database management system by applying.
Course Content: Designing database management system by understanding data structure. Understanding V’s of big data and storing architecture by discussing standard SQL and NoSQL structure.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the differences between data, information and knowledge and defines them by giving examples
2) Knows the structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
3) Defines the entity-relationship diagrams and designs for a database
4) Explains and applies normalization on tables
5) Understanding relational algebra
6) Understands, explains and build the SQL queries
7) Designs a database by using a tool
8) Understanding NoSQL databases, knows the difference with SQL queries
