Course Objectives: | To learn the concepts of management information systems and its strategic importance. To have comprehensive information about the stages and components of building a management information system. To explore how to achieve competitive advantage through the use of management information systems in the global economy. To gain the ability to produce solutions for the problems and to meet needs of businesses and organizations with the perspective that management information systems require. |
Course Content: | This course is designed to make the undergraduate students understand management information system which is interaction between management, informatics, and system. In the design process, technologically restructured world and the new industrial revolution are taken into considerations. This course is the basis for the understanding of the role of the MIS in the business world, and its impact on the business and organizations. In addition to that content, new industrial revolution, data science, cybersecurity and changes in the business culture will be discussed. |

1) Know the management information systems and their strategic importance. 2) Define all concepts and elements in the design of a management information system. 3) Explain the relationship between MIS and the new industrial revolution. 4) Understand the role of management information system in solving problems and gaining competitive advantage. |
