Course Objectives: | 1) It is aimed to inform the students about the problems, reasons and conservation solutions encountered by the immovable cultural heritage that need to be protected. 2) It is aimed to inform the students about to understand the values and problems of cultural heritage. 3) It is aimed the students to acquire the knowledge and ability to make architectural analyzes for the preservation of a tangible cultural heritage. 4) It is aimed to make students realize that the conservation projects developed for the cultural heritage that needs to be protected are also a design problem. |
Course Content: | The course consists of Theory and Practice sections. In the theory section, fundamental information about the concept of protection is given and evaluations are made through examples of applications. Analysis of the current state of a monumental cultural heritage with drawings and photographs (measured drawings) are expected. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Understanding technical, aesthetic and cultural foundations in the field of architecture and ability to relate them to the profession. 2) Understanding and awareness of preservation, cultural heritage and renewal. 3) Ability to do research regarding the profession and reflect the data analysed on design. 4) Developing self-confidence and activeness in interdisciplinary, individual and/or group works to take responsibilities. 5) Ability to access information and do research, and to use databases and other information sources. |
