Course Objectives:

The course aims to introduce students to international political economy.

Course Content:

This course will revolve around fundamental questions concerning the global functioning of the economy: How does globalization affect the economy and politics? What are the main issues and contemporary trends regarding the global economy? How is the agency of political actors shaped by global economic forces? This course aims to provide students with a basic familiarity with current theoretical and practical trends in IPE. Several issues –e.g. production, trade, finance, labor relations, development, technology, multinational corporations, and economic crises – will be addressed in the context of globalization.

2) A basic familiarity with the functioning of the global economy within an analytical and practical framework

12) They can express their ideas and solutions both written and orally, and if required they can present and publish them on both national and international platforms.
13) They use information and communication technologies together with computer software at the advanced level of European Computer Driving License required by the field.
