Course Objectives: | The course will introduce students to political science. Students will finish with basic knowledge on the sources of political conflict, cooperation, and decision-making. They will have acquired critical thinking skills and a broad range of analytical tools for examining politics and political interactions. |
Course Content: | Politics, political regimes and ideologies, state theory, democracy and models of democracy, nationalism, representation and election, political parties, groups, interests and social movements. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students learn how to make rules governing our common life. 2) Students determine who decides what the rules are and how they are applied, and how they are justified. 3) Students interpret who has a say in deciding how the world's resources will be allocated. 4) Students will be introduced to key political-science theories 5) Students will learn ways of reading more deeply into these theories through structured discussions and documentary excerpts. |
