Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To know the roles and functions of the emergency nurse, to know the triage of the emergency patient, to know basic life support and advanced life support.
Course Content: Emergency Care Nursing course covers emergency service and its characteristics, triage and its importance, roles and functions of emergency nurse, emergency situations related to systems, care interventions in these situations and basic and advanced life support.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the main systems in the human body, knows the concepts of first aid and emergency care, and knows and applies first aid methods.
2) Knows patient transfer rules and methods
3) They can triage.
4) Apply first aid and emergency care nursing interventions on bleeding, shock, cardio pulmonary resection, bone and soft tissue traumas, burns, insect stings, drowning, foreign body swallowing
5) Knows ethical and forensic problems related to emergency care and takes necessary measures.
6) They can make primary diagnosis of common emergency care diseases, initiate resuscitation and help.

1) Based on the qualifications gained in secondary education; Understand the concepts and concepts related to the field of health at the undergraduate level, and have advanced theoretical and practical knowledge supported by textbooks, application tools and other sources of current information in the field of health.
2) Knowledge of nature, source, limits, accuracy, reliability and validity of knowledge.
