Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The subject of physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches used in intensive care will be examined in detail.
Course Content: Pathophysiology and rehabilitation of critical illness and respiratory failure, evaluation in intensive care patients, use of life support equipment in clinical monitoring and evaluation, mechanical ventilation, physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications, clinical decision making.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Describe the pathophysiology and clinical characteristics of critical disease and respiratory failure; comprehend the effects of body systems.
2) Uses intensive care evaluation systems; makes appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation assessment.
3) Apply appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches to clinical problems.
4) Understands the use of life support equipments and ancillary equipment in evaluation in intensive care, clinical follow-up and treatment.
