Course Objectives: | The aim of the course for each student; Definition of geriatric rehabilitation and knowledge of the team members involved in geriatric rehabilitation, normal physiological aging process and physiological changes, elderly geriatric syndromes and chronic diseases in the elderly are informed about; The aim of this course is to provide the students with the necessary information about the evaluation and exercise programs for healthy and disabled elderly people and to inform the students about healthy aging and improving the quality of life in the elderly. |
Course Content: | Explaining the physiological changes occurring with age progress, application of evaluation and exercise programs for the elderly and healthy elderly people, giving information about healthy aging and quality of life. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have information about the content of geriatric rehabilitation and team members involved in rehabilitation. 2) Knows the normal physiological aging process and the physiological changes caused by aging. 3) To be able to define geriatric syndromes in elderly and have knowledge about common chronic diseases in elderly. 4) Defines the clinical features observed in healthy and sick elderly individuals and associates them with appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches. |
