Course Objectives: | This course offers a new and unique perspective for writing. It does not limit itself to only writing a paragraph or essay but adopts a comprehensive approach, offering handy and real writing tasks. It accepts writing as an invaluable means of generating (discovering), clarifying, and organizing ideas. With the help of the tasks in this class, students will focus their attention on the writing process and discover, organize, and finalize their ideas about certain topics. In short, this course helps ELL majors gain insight into the writing process. More specifically, ELL majors will a. develop required writing skills to improve their written expression. b. analyze a paragraph and an essay. c. be familiar with and produce different types of essay d. generate, clarify, and organize their ideas depending on the nature of a given task. |
Course Content: | Basic rules of English language, different types of texts, writing on ideas in different text types at academic level, developing written communication skills. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Be able to write text in accordance with English Language writing rules. 2) Be able to write paragraphs and articles in accordance with the rules. 3) Classify different types of articles according to their characteristics. 4) Be able to write articles in English at an academic level. |
