Course Objectives: | It is to explain the main characteristics of Turkey's economy and development of the historical process. In addition, the roles of the private and public institutions in Turkey's economy will be highlighted. It will discuss the impact of social and political events in Turkey's economy. |
Course Content: | General Structure of the Republic of Turkey from the Ottoman Economy in Transition, Ottoman In The Industrıal Revolutıon, Nation State And Turkish Economy 1923-1929, Imported Substitute Development 1940-1950, Imported Substitute Development 1940-1950, Transition to the Market Economy 1960-1980, Transition to the Market Economy 1960-1980, Neoliberalism and Structural Transformation of the Economy in Turkey 1980-1990, Neoliberalism and Structural Transformation of the Economy in Turkey 1990-2000, Turkey's Economy in a Globalized World 2000-2010, Turkey's Economy in a Globalized World 2010-2020, Covid-19 Pandemis in Turkey Economy 2020-2021, Comparison of periods with each other and possible scenarios about the future. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Know the economic situation of the Ottoman Empire in its last years. 2) Can follow the change and transformation of the Turkish economy. 3) Know sectoral stages of the Turkish economy. 4) Analyze the causes of the crises experienced. 5) Know Turkey's economic situation in the first quarter of the 21st century. |
