Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It aims to contribute to general information about the harmful effects of chemical substances, to enlighten their mechanism of action and to evaluate the possible risks on humans based on experimental studies on biological test systems, and to convey the importance and applications of rational drug use, safety monitoring.
Course Content: Obtain technical knowledge, application and preparation skills about Systemic Toxicology, Environmental and Occupational Toxicology, Pharmacovigilance and its applications, Addiction Toxicology (Substance Addiction and Drug Abuse), First Aid and Antidote Mechanisms in Poisonings, Pesticides, Herbal Poisonings and treatment, Animal Poisonings and treatment.

1) Evaluates the toxic effects of drugs
2) Identifies and evaluates drug-drug / nutrient interactions
3) Evaluates the toxic results of non-pharmaceutical xenobiotics
4) Applies the principles of rational and safe drug use in special patient groups
5) Risk assessment determines harmlessness limits
6) Identifies and evaluates the side / adverse effects of drugs. Knows pharmacovigilance practices.
7) Knows treatment methods in Animal and Plant Poisoning.
8) Evaluates the toxic results of non-pharmaceutical xenobiotics

1) Applies and develops the universal and social dimensional effects of basic, professional and technological knowledge in the field of pharmacy as well as pharmacy practice interdisciplinary by following legal, deontological and ethical rules. 3 3 3 3 3 3 3
2) Defines the terminology related to the pharmacy profession; solves problems , accesses scientific information in the field of pharmacy, after monitoring and evaluating the current literature, applies , communicates, shares by using information technologies effectively and efficiently. 2 2 2 2 2 2 2
3) Uses theoretical and practical knowledge about the anatomical structure of the human body, the physiological working principles of systems, biochemical, immunological events in the organism and microorganisms.

5) Defines medicinal plants, herbal drugs and active substances; gains the skills for the development of natural products used for medical purposes.

8) He/She is competent at formulations, production, stability, quality assurance, licensing, patent studies, legal regulations of products containing natural origin and / or synthetic active substances, advanced therapy medicinal products, radiopharmaceuticals and cosmetic products.
9) Interprets the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of drugs, the factors that change their effect, their toxic effects, pharmacolygical activities and their risk assessment method.
