Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to enable the students to understand the structure of the Turkish economy, major economic developments during the modern history of Turkey, main economic problems, and main economic indicators.
Course Content: Scope of this course covers; general characteristics of the Turkish economy, modern economic history of Turkey , national accounts and the GDP, employment, income distribution and price developments; industrial and sectoral structure, economic crises and reform programs.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Interpret the main economic indicators of Turkey.
2) Make international comparisons through the concepts of GDP, economic growth, income distribution, labor market and price level indicators.
3) Analyze the developments regarding economic and human development.
