Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to give the students the ability to determine the appropriate learning environment and learning methods in the preparation of an education in the field of midwifery
Course Content: Learning-teaching process, in-service training, clinical education, adult education, health education, patient education, learning theories, education philosophy, training program development, educational technologies, lifelong learning, training activities can be carried out in accordance with the learning-teaching process

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Define epidemiological tendencies, historical events and promotion initiatives related to breastfeeding
2) Identify the roles of a lactation trainer and demonstrate the ability of a lactation trainer to identify situations outside the scope of practice.
3) Identify common barriers to breastfeeding and implement strategies to overcome these barriers.
4) Identify the cultural possibilities and barriers of breastfeeding and implement strategies to overcome these barriers.
5) Describes, but is not limited to, the key concepts a mother should know to be successful in breastfeeding her baby: the anatomy and physiology of lactation, maternal nutrition, and the effect of hospital practices on breastfeeding.
