Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, the student; will learn risky situations in labor and management of delivery in these situations, midwifery care and practices in risky labor, determination and care of risky situations that may arise in the postpartum period.
Course Content: The preparation of the pregnant to interventing labor. , Anomalies of pain mechanisms (pain weakness, regular uterus contractions), Uterus tetanics –fetal distress, Partus presipitatus,, Premature labor action, Prolonged labor action, surmaturation,the death of intrauterine fetus, Deflexion coming (bregma coming, foreface coming,face coming) , Other shapes of other coming (oxsipito-posterior coming, smooth posture in height, transvers situation in deep ), Anus comings (definition, types, reasons, diagnosis labor mechanism), Labor techniques of anus coming, The dangers of anus coming, Transvers, oblic comings, Complications seen in the third phase of the labor, Postpartum bleedings seen in early and late periods and sheen syndrome

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) It provides caring approaches determining risk factors for newborn and mother in early period or at labor or postpartum
2) It prepares individual or her family for the labor event and recated attempts such as induction, episiotomy, amniyotomy, forceps, vacuum extraction and cesarean
3) It defines pathologic situations about the labor action, and it applies suitable midwifery applications.
4) It directs in the risky situations.
5) It has the habit of cooperative study with health staff of the equip
6) It makes education about risks that may affect the health of the mother and newborn.
7) In the direction of knowledge he acquired, she becomes advisory in the subjects she and her family needs
