Course Objectives: | To learn about basic genetic information, basic Mendelian genetic principles, chromosome-gene structure and methods for obtaining chromosome, genetic abnormalities, prenatal diagnosis indications and applications, the relationship between phenotype, genotype and enviroment |
Course Content: | It is aimed to learn genetic concepts at basic level, cell division, gene-chromosome structure and irregularities, chromosome acquisition methods, inheritance patterns, prenatal diagnosis methods in midwifery. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have knowledge about developmental processes and chromosome structures of male and female reproductive cells. 2) Explain the anomalies that occur in intrauterine developmental periods together with their causes. 3) Knows the inheritance materials of the cell, which is the smallest unit constituting the human. 4) Comprehends the inheritance of genetic material. 5) Knows the changes in genetic material. 6) Knows the genetic diseases (Genetic Diseases) as a result of anomalies. 7) Prenatal and preimplantation genetics can count test and diagnostic methods. 8) Genetic counseling and family tree in familial diseases and consanguineous marriages. |
