Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To provide students with basic knowledge and skills about professional concepts and practices.
Course Content: The Basic Practices in Midwifery course is a basic midwifery/vocational course that provides students with knowledge about the concepts and values ​​of the profession, as well as the purpose, application and skills of the profession-specific basic practices. The course is a continuation of the basic concepts and values ​​course in midwifery.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Accurately measures, evaluates and records the patient's vital signs
2) Have the knowledge and skills to administer oral, parenteral and local drugs
3) Uses the patient care process in care
4) Have the ability to perform applications for body systems (Digestive, urinary, respiratory)
5) Can perform basic midwifery care and practices in the process from the admission of the individual to the health care setting until discharge.
6) Ensures that the patient is moved appropriately by using the principles of body mechanics correctly
7) Knows the effects of immobility on tissue integrity, evaluates pressure ulcer risk
8) Can make skin assessment of the patient and identify self-care needs
9) Recognize the individual needs of the patient and fulfill their care needs (skin, mouth, hair, perineum, etc.)
