| Course Objectives: | The aim of this course for every student is; To recognize speech sound disorders. |
| Course Content: | Speech sound disorders: definitions and terms; the relationship between articulation, phonology and phoniatry; biological and neurological components necessary for the production of speech sound; classification of speech sound disorders; speech characteristics and etiology; effects of speech sound disorders on academic and social life; evaluation in speech sound disorders; case studies. |

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explain definitions and terms related to speech sound disorders. 2) Explain the relationship between articulation and phonology. 3) Knows the biological and neurological components necessary for the production of speech sound. 4) Classify speech sound disorders. 5) Classify speech sound disorders. 6) Knows the characteristic features and etiology of speech sound disorders. 7) Knows the effects of speech sound disorders on academic and social life. 8) Knows the evaluation process of speech sound disorders (case history, oral-peripheral examination, related standardized tests and non-standardized assessment tools). 9) Apply the steps in the evaluation process of speech sound disorders. 10) Knows the therapy approaches for speech sound disorders. 11) Explains the differences between therapy approaches for speech sound disorders. 12) In the case of a given case, the patient decides which therapy approach is applied and prepares the therapy plan. |
