Course Objectives: | It is aimed for students to acquire the skills of observing the developmental characteristics of hospitalized children, their mental state, interaction of children, families, staff, games and playrooms in the hospital, hospital schools, and making applications related to the field, preparing a training program that prepares children and families for the hospital. In addition, it aims to provide consultancy to the family of the child who will receive service from health institutions, to work on the development of children in health institutions and to gain qualifications related to the development of children with health problems. |
Course Content: | Mental states of children receiving inpatient treatment; child, family, staff interaction, game and playrooms in the hospital, hospital schools; hospital preparation training for children and their families, child development follow-up units and studies carried out in these units, development follow-up and evaluation techniques. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explains how the systems of children with health problems and their families should be. 2) Explains the duties and responsibilities of child development profession in health institutions and organizations. 3) Explains the impact of communication and approaches on the development of health personnel, children with health problems, family. 4) Explains the importance of informative services for family and health personel in pre-treatment, treatment process and post-treatment processes of children with health problems. 5) Creates informative documents and resources on the healthy life of children with and without health problems. |
