Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to provide the students with the ability to know the usage areas of the instruments used in dentistry practice, to develop the usage skills, to know the usage areas of the substances and preparations used in the treatments, to prepare the preparations correctly by the students and to be able to apply on the dental instruments and clinical instruments.
Course Content: Introduction of materials and instruments used in dentistry, teaching of ergonomic working principles and preparation and application of dentistry preparations are the main components of this course.
Dental hand tools cleaning, maintenance and effective use will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) He/ She defines and explain dental treatments.
2) He/ She defines the hand tools used in dentistry and explain the correct use skills.
3) He/ She recognizes the materials and preparations used in dentistry.
4) He/ She applies and uses radiological tests in dentistry.
5) He/ She performs cleaning and sterilization of dental instruments.
6) He/ She makes storage materials, shelf life and stock follow-up.
7) He/ She prepares basic preparations (cement, filler material, etc.) correctly.
8) He/ She does in the clinic performs four hand dentistry working principles.
