Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to enable the students to have basic knowledge about oral diseases, to learn the mechanism of caries formation and to understand the importance of oral health on the general health of the individual.
Course Content: General information about oral dental health, recognition of oral microorganisms, teaching of the mechanism of caries formation and oral health to explain the effects of general health.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) He/ She defines basic oral environment microbiology.
2) He/ She explains the effects of bacterial and virus concepts on oral health.
3) He/ She explain the main oral diseases.
4) He/ She defines the basic morphology of teeth and explains the properties of different structures.
5) He/ She defines general dental hygiene motivation to learn the mechanism of caries formation in teeth and prevent caries formation.
6) To understand the effects of dental losses on general health and to understand the role of dentistry in the field of preventive medicine and to be able to make necessary contributions as assistant personnel in this field.
