Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed that students of this course should learn the institutes of EU, basic concept and general content of the EU law and the ability to interpret and solve functioning of EU and relations of between Turkey from the perspective of international law.
Course Content: First of all, the basic concept, character and sources of European Union (EU) law are studied in the lesson than legal sources of basic EU’s institutes are examined. Also refers to the common market nature of the EU and the arrangements for free movement of goods, services and capital. Finally, information is given about the treaties establishing legal relations between EU-Turkey and negotiation process.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Has knowledge about legal basis, functions and institutions of EU.
2) Explains the sources and characteristics of EU law.
3) Knows the process of EU jurisdiction system.
4) Interprets, the rules and relations in the context of international agreements that have been made between Turkey-EU.

13) Have knowledge about the specific rules and professional ethics of the professions in the field of law and have the competence to apply them to his / her profession.
14) He / She assimilates the structure and rules of the Turkish language and is competent to apply this knowledge to the accepted standards of legal texts.
15) He / she follows developments in his / her field and communicates with his / her colleagues at the A2 level in terms of European Language Portfolio criterion according to education level.
