Course Objectives: | To provide students with theoretical and applied knowledge about the concepts, subjects and methods related to health economics. |
Course Content: | This course covers the health-health sector-economics relationship, definition and scope of health economics, distinctive features of the health sector from economics perspective, demand and supply for health services, health services financing, public involvement in the health sector, and economic evaluation in the health sector. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Will be able to explain the mutual relations between health, health sector and economy, 2) Will be able to explain the economic differences and characteristics of the health sector, 3) Will be able to comprehend the concept and scope of health economics 4) Will be able to explain the basic concepts and issues related to the supply and demand of health services. 5) Will be able to explain comparatively economic evaluation methods in health services, 6) Will be able to explain the role of the state in the health sector. |
