Course Objectives: | This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Extended Reality (XR) technologies, including Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). Through a collaboration with XR Turkey, students will explore both theoretical frameworks and practical industry applications. By the end of the course, students are expected to critically evaluate XR environments, understand their societal implications, and develop the skills necessary to conceptualize and produce their own XR projects. |
Course Content: | This course offers a comprehensive overview of the theoretical foundations and practical applications of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies. Students will explore the historical evolution of XR, its technical components, narrative structures, and user experience design principles. The course also examines how XR is applied across diverse domains such as education, healthcare, architecture, and cultural production. Through a partnership with XR Turkey, students will engage with industry experts and participate in hands-on workshops. By the end of the semester, students are expected to develop and present a technically and creatively strong XR project. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) The student will be able to explain the basic concepts and historical development of XR technologies. 2) The student will be able to analyze XR applications and evaluate their use across various fields. 3) The student will be able to develop creative and technical skills to design and present basic XR content. |
