Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to enable students to learn the basic concepts and theories of international migration and to comprehend the historical processes and debates in the field. Migration processes of different regions, international migration policies, economic and social aspects of migration will be discussed in the course as well. |
Course Content: | After discussing the basic theories and concepts of international migration, the course offers an explanation of the historical development of migration and the relationship between globalisation and migration. The course also examines the place of forced migrants, irregular migrants and environmental migration.International labour migration and the migration policies of Europe and Turkey will also be discussed. |
