Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to introduce how world cities were formed, starting from the first urbanization process, in order to teach the context between cities and civilization in the light of information, documents and data obtained from the past to the present.
Course Content: This course; It covers the first urbanization movements starting from the Neolithic Period, the definition and development of the concepts of city and civilization, Western and Eastern Civilizations and world cities. Understanding the main theme of the course will be supported by on-site investigations in the field during the course.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Upon successful completion of this course students; Civilization, city, etc. Explains basic concepts and definitions.
2) Explains the reflection of different civilizations and cultures on the shape of the city, starting from the first urbanization formation.
3) Interprets the development of the urbanization movement from past to present and its modern reflection on urbanization, together with its pros and cons.
4) Interprets theories regarding cities and civilization.
5) It interprets the reflection of different civilizations and cultures on the shape of the city and the underlying way of thinking.
