Course Objectives: | In this course, where the development of Turkish Cinema throughout history is explained, it is aimed for students to understand and interpret today's cinema by revealing the historical background and foundations of the films they watch today. |
Course Content: | This is a course in which the historical development of Turkish Cinema since its emergence is examined, the phases it has gone through depending on technological, social and political developments are explained, and the changes that have occurred in the language and narrative of cinema are revealed by examining various cinema movements that have emerged. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Describe the general characteristics of Turkish cinema from its beginnings to the present. 2) Recall information about the beginning of cinema in Turkey. 3) Recall information about the period of Theater, Transition and Filmmakers. 4) Recall the Yeşilçam period, film production processes and the functioning of the industry. 5) Comment on the prominent directors and their films from its beginnings to the present. 6) Comment on the social conditions that have affected Turkish cinema from its beginnings to the present. 7) Relate the socio-cultural conditions in the country from its beginnings to the present to the country's cinema. |
