Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to gain basic knowledge and skills related to nursing management in children hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit. |
Course Content: | This course includes the diagnosis of critically ill children, the status of pediatric intensive care services in the world and in Turkey, the minimum equipment, personnel, and service standards of pediatric intensive care services, the effects of intensive care experience on the family, the approach to the terminally ill child and his family, transport of the pediatric intensive care patient, and pediatric advanced life support. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Discusses the basic concepts in paediatric intensive care nursing. 2) Explains the technology used in pediatric intensive care areas. 3) Follows the current approaches to the care of the child in paediatric intensive care unit. 4) Uses the basic concepts in paediatric intensive care nursing in the care of the child and his/her family. 5) Produce evidence-based solutions to the problems encountered in paediatric intensive care areas. |
