Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to make students aware of the responsibilities of nurses and multidisciplinary approaches to ensure that young people aged 12-18 gain the behaviours to protect and improve their own health and well-being.
Course Content: This course covers health and illness in adolescence, healthy development, communication skills, long-term disorders and special needs, protection and maintenance of healthy life, services for adolescents, compliance and adherence to treatment in long-term problems, sexual health, substance use, mental health, eating disorders and legal framework related to work.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Understands the importance of protecting and improving adolescent health.
2) Determines the conditions that impair or threaten the health of adolescents and develops the necessary nursing approaches
3) Finds strategies to improve the compliance and adherence of adolescents who need long-term treatment or who have special conditions
4) Directs adolescents to relevant adolescent health services.
