Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: At the end of this course, students will have information about the development process of the Internet, its areas of use, the most commonly used social media platforms and features, Internet addiction. At the same time, he will gain awareness about the concepts of cyberbullying and victim, infobesite and digital detox existing in online life. In addition, it is aimed to gain competence regarding the positive and negative effects of online life by having an idea about digital parenting and digital games in online life.
Course Content: The Internet and the development process, the most commonly used social media platforms and their features, internet addiction, cyber bully, cyber victim, infobesite and digital detox concepts, digital parenting in online life, digital games and the positive and negative effects of online life make up the content of the course.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have information about the Internet and its historical development.
2) Describes the most commonly used social media platforms and their features.
3) Gains awareness about the concepts of technology addiction, infobesity and digital detox, cyberbullying and cyber victimization.
4) Phubbing in online life explains parental phubbing and digital parenting.
5) Have knowledge about digital games in online life.
6) Explains the positive and negative effects of online life.
