Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, ethics, deontology and moral concepts, the concept of science, the characteristics of science, types of scientific research, ethics of scientific research and the rules and principles to be followed when doing scientific research, scientific publication, scientific publication ethics and the rules and principles to be followed when doing scientific publication, on people. scientific research and clinical practices and related ethical principles, Nuremberg Code, Declaration of Helsinki, patient/client rights and responsibilities, the concept of professional ethics, clinical and practice areas in language and speech therapy, professional ethical rules in the field of language and speech therapy and Speech and Language Therapists. The Association's Declaration of Ethical Principles aims to teach the topics of current ethical research and ethical dilemmas in the field of speech and language therapy, introduction to evidence-based practices, evidence-based practices, types of evidence and use of evidence in evidence-based practices, clinical decision-making process and steps in evidence-based practices.
Course Content: In this course, students will understand the concepts of ethics, deontology and morality; It is aimed to be able to apply knowledge of scientific research and publication ethics and language and speech therapy professional ethics to the events encountered in daily or professional life.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the concepts of communication, language, speech, voice, hearing and swallowing and has theoretical and practical knowledge of the relevant processes from a developmental, linguistic, behavioral and biomedical perspective.
2) He/she has up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the evaluation and rehabilitation of language, speech and swallowing disorders.
3) Has sufficient professional terminology
4) Has knowledge of the scientific literature and current developments in her field and the knowledge of accessing these developments.
5) She has reliable, valid and evidence-based knowledge in the field of language and speech therapy.
6) It informs the public about language, speech and swallowing disorders and carries out relevant prevention studies.
7) Provides consultancy services to individuals, cases, and families and relatives of cases about language, speech and swallowing disorders.
8) Performs appropriate evaluation and therapy of language, speech and swallowing disorders.
9) During the evaluation and therapy of language, speech and swallowing disorders, it collects data using appropriate tools and devices, notes the records, interprets them, reports the results, prepares, implements and monitors the therapy plan/program.
10) Conducts scientific research in the field of language and speech therapy and contributes to the scientific literature in the field.
11) As an independent/individual or interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team member in the field of language and speech therapy, he/she takes responsibility for the relevant processes and activities and monitors and manages the processes and develops solutions within the scope of evidence-based knowledge and practices when problems are encountered.
12) It is responsible for organizing the necessary activities, conducting research and creating projects in order to raise public awareness, carry out protective preventive studies and develop health policies, taking into account the benefit of the society.
13) Follows the changing and developing information regarding communication, language, speech, voice, hearing and swallowing processes, disorders, evaluation and therapy, and uses scientific literature appropriately for this purpose.
14) By using a foreign language, one follows international literature and is informed about international developments.
15) It aims to continuously improve itself by participating in training, courses, workshops, seminars and congress activities related to lifelong professional and personal development.
16) Communicates and socializes with individuals who receive speech and language therapy or counseling services in accordance with their age, socio-economic, socio-cultural, education level and language-speech disorder.
17) Communicates appropriately with teammates in practice, discussion and other studies regarding speech and language therapy and other fields in an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team.

1) Prepare and implement therapy programs to prevent, evaluate, diagnose and diagnose language and speech disorders by using original theoretical and practical knowledge and equipments acquired in the field. Change or terminate the process and application where necessary.
1) -To be able to use advanced theoretical and applied knowledge gained in the field. -To be able to interpret and evaluate data, to define and analyze problems, to develop solutions based on research and evidence, using the advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field. - To be able to inform the relevant people and institutions on the issues related to the field; to be able to convey their thoughts and suggestions for solutions to problems verbally and in writing. - Being able to carry out an advanced study in the field independently.
