Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim is to ensure that the doctoral student taking this course learns cross-cultural disease and health models and becomes able to discuss the integration of cultural competence into health education and practice.
Course Content: Culture of health and disease, Concept of culture, The importance and place of culture in health, World cultures, Cultural behaviors in health, Transcultural health and midwifery models, Relationship between patient relatives and healthcare personnel in different cultures, Global health problems, National and international health policies, Intercultural midwifery concept and It covers the topics of transcultural approaches in education and intercultural care approach.
