Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge of the effective clinical assistant in the dentistry, their special clinical expertise, the data entry to the patient follow-up programs used in the practice and clinical settings, gaining the skills to regulate the workflow and to be informed about the treatment protocols and patient relations.
Course Content: To teach the effective use of all materials and hand tools used in dentistry applications and to teach dentist assistant training which is prone to the principle of 4 hand dentistry.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) He/ She provides general environment cleaning and equipment sterilization in dentistry clinic.
2) He/ She explains the properties of measurement materials and preparing the measurements used for different treatments and applying them to the measuring spoons.
3) He/ She explains the recognition and proper use of hand tools and filling materials used in the clinic.
4) He/ She explains the use of different x-ray devices used in dentistry and image recording in digital media.
5) He/ She explains the ergonomic dentistry assistance which is suitable for 4 hand dentistry principles.
6) He/ She explains the regulation of clinical workflow, material stock follow-up, communication with dental warehouses and laboratories and follow-up of work.
