Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Within the scope of this course, basic concepts related to behavior and behavior problems, classification, causes, behavioral problems seen in different periods, evaluation of behavioral problems seen in infancy, preschool, school and adolescence, determination and implementation of appropriate intervention approaches and behavior management are included.
Course Content: Within the scope of this course, basic concepts related to behavior and behavior problems, classification, causes, behavioral problems seen in different periods, evaluation of behavioral problems seen in infancy, preschool, school and adolescence, determination and implementation of appropriate intervention approaches and behavior management are included.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explains the principles, concepts and practices related to basic approaches to behavior.
2) Explains the possible causes of the child's problem behavior.
3) Explains the methods and techniques of evaluating the problem behavior of the child.
4) Interprets behavioral data and selects the appropriate intervention method.
5) Prepares a behavior change plan for problem behavior.
6) Analyzes and interprets various cases.

1) Introducing the aim, content and resources of the course, characteristics of human behavior
2) Behavioral problems are the reasons why the child shows these behaviors, which are caused by the child and the environment.
3) Characteristics of Applied Behavior Analysis and areas where it is used.
4) Defining the target behavior and determining the target behavior.
5) Data collection and recording methods for target behavior.
6) Methods used to increase appropriate / desired behaviors.

9) Ensuring permanence and generalization in behaviors.
