Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The course aims to create awareness towards the existing latent systems in the world, covering the topic in three different scales; personal, local and global. The goal of the course is three-fold: on one side, students will make inquiries by deploying a field study to obtain quantitative and qualitative data to explore an existing system. simultaneously, students will evaluate this data to discover events, find associations that form patterns. finally, students will visualize the collected data that will lead to exposing the systemic structures within a specific context.
Course Content: The course is divided into 4 weeks long three modules focusing on different parts of a whole term study. Throughout the semesters, three modules consist of filling data sheets to collect information and associate the acquired data to visualize a system which will facilitate the completion of a book about the food-related financial system of Kadikoy. There will be lectures and other short presentations to introduce the students, topics that will enrich their work throughout the semester. The course will be structured through open desk crit sessions and Pecha Kucha events to complete the semester work.
