Course Objectives: | To give information about the concepts of poisoning and toxicology, exposure to xenobiotics, acute and chronic effects of exposure and general approach to poisonings. |
Course Content: | History of poison science, related definitions and toxic effects mechanisms, special toxic effects, acute and chronic poisonings, general approach to poisonings |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) He/ She explains the history of toxicology. 2) He/ She explain general concepts and classifications of toxicology. 3) he/ She explains toxic mechanisms of action and specific toxic effects (teratogenicity, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity). 4) He/ She Explains liver and possible liver toxicity. 5) He/ She defines various chemical and other xenobiotics and explains the toxic effects of these. |
