Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Qualifying Exam (Quals) aim to test the student’s technical abilities, the examine his/her scientific knowledge, and to evaluate his/her ability to conduct research and teaching in the general area of the student’s Academic Program (Department).
Course Content: The Qualification Exam consists of written and oral parts; The written part is given as an in-class exam. The oral part is done by verbal evaluation of the student in front of the jury.

1) To critically read, understand, and evaluate current literature in the discipline
2) To integrate and synthesize ideas within the chemistry field and to critically evaluate empirical evidence
