Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course introduces the basic concepts and theories of family psychology, family relationships and theories and techniques to be used when working with families. It is aimed to enable students to learn the basic concepts and theories of family psychology and to gain awareness of the therapeutic techniques to be used when working with families.
Course Content: The concept of family in a psychology class family, culture, and family types, family life cycle, family relationships, intergenerational relationships, family patterns, family communication, family issues such as techniques to be used when working with will be studied.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) - Recognizes family psychology as a subfield of psychology, understands its development in the historical process.
2) -Knows the working topics and methods of psychologists working in the field of family psychology.
3) - Knows the basic concepts and theories about the family.
4) - Recognizes the family as a system and explains the ecological system in which it is located.
5) - Explains how the family is influenced by the culture in which it is located.
6) Has information about the changes that occur in family life. Knows the developmental stages of the family life cycle.
