Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To introduce the basic concepts and theories of social psychology, basic research and application areas of social psychology, to gain understanding, evaluation, reporting skills of social events and phenomena. To have knowledge in the basic subfields of social psychology and to be able to develop a critical point of view.
Course Content: Research methods in social psychology, self and identity, groups, and people in groups, prejudice and discrimination, attitudes, installation, theory, social influence, aggression, helping behavior, theoretical criticism

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To explain the basic research methods in social psychology and to understand the role of theory in social psychology
2) Can use the theories of social psychology to improve their personal and professional communication skills
3) Apply and report the concepts and theories of social psychology to psychological and social events in current life
4) Develops a critical perspective on theories
5) Can interpret the findings of studies in the related field and organize studies
