Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course for each student;
Recognition of this problem in patients with respiratory and cardiovascular problems, evaluation of patients with appropriate evaluation methods, respiratory physiotherapy approaches, application of pulmonary rehabilitation, selection of cardiac rehabilitation approaches and planning of appropriate treatment program for the patient.
Course Content: Cardiopulmonary anatomy, cardiopulmonary physiology, cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, cardiopulmonary involvement in systemic diseases, transport of oxygen.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explain the basic concepts of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
2) Defines the clinical features of cardiopulmonary diseases
3) Evaluates the patients with cardiopulmonary problems from physical, physiological and functional aspects.
4) Plans and applies physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches in patients with cardiopulmonary problems.
5) It evaluates the quality of life and psychosocial status in patients with cardiopulmonary problems and gives a home program.
6) Analyze risk factors in people with cardiopulmonary risk.
7) It makes patient education and behavior modification in people with cardiopulmonary risk.

5) Physiotherapy and rehabilitation in thoracic surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation in intensive care
5) Physiotherapy and rehabilitation in thoracic surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation in intensive care
6) Physiotherapy and rehabilitation in neonatals and pediatric patients with respiratory problems
7) Exercise training in physical rehabilitation, physical activity, daily living activities and energy consumption, midterm exam
8) Definition and general characteristics of major heart diseases, Cardiovascular evaluation and electrocardiography
9) Early cardiac rehabilitation program, Exchangeable risk factors and treatment
10) Exercise tests used in cardiovascular diseases, Exercise training and external patient cardiac rehabilitation program
