Course Objectives: | Explaining the physiological changes occur associated with aging, providing the comprehension of the applications about the required evaluation and exercise programs for the healthy & disabled elderly, arousing the awareness about healthy aging and quality of life. |
Course Content: | Physiological changes that occur along with the progression of age and the necessary exercise and environmental regulation programs for healthy and disabled elderly people for healthy aging. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Description about Gerontology, Geriatrics and Aging 1) Describing clinical properties observed in healthy & sick geriatric patients and associating them with appropriate approach of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Obtaining information about the physiological responses of geriatric patients in case of various diseases. Gaining experiences about the evaluation of geriatric patients and about defining & understanding the problems of these patients. Planning and applying the appropriate treatment approach.
