Course Objectives: | In the course, it is aimed that the student will be able to critically discuss and interpret the theories, concepts and ideas that form the basis of the field of media and communication. In addition, the applications made within the scope of the course, the analysis of news and other media content, and the media content of the students. It will be possible to analyze them within the framework of communication theories and to create media content suitable for their own purposes in this direction. |
Course Content: | Communication theories, mass communication theories, theoretical schools and the ideas they advocate, the theoretical background of communication and the theoretical relations between society, culture, structural processes and media tools. It is a theoretical course in which it is examined in the light of different theoretical views. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To have knowledge about mass communication theories and to learn different theories and approaches in the literature, 2) To have the knowledge to apply mass communication theories to daily media use in a meaningful way. 3) Ability to critically read and criticize media content. 4) Learning how mass media products are produced and what effects they have |
