Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to evaluate the advanced integration steps of energy and nutrient metabolism in the light of regulatory mechanisms; To have knowledge about the operation, capabilities and limitations of laboratory devices by examining the materials and methods used in research on nutritional biochemistry.
Course Content: This course covers biochemical molecules and metabolic pathways that are essential for homeostasis, and advanced biochemical analysis methods.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Homeostatic mechanisms in biological systems are learned.
2) Chemical, biochemical properties and metabolic integration pathways of nutrients are learned.
3) Regulatory steps of nutrient metabolism and signaling pathways associated with these steps are learned.
4) Research techniques used in nutritional biochemistry research are evaluated.
5) Research articles in the field of nutritional biochemistry are discussed and evaluated in terms of experimental approaches.
