Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed to learn advanced psychopathology knowledge, the principles of detailed clinical and mental status assessment, and the definition and classification of mental disorders.
Course Content: The scope of the course will be the definition of psychopathology, general concepts, principles of mental state assessment, phenomenology and clinical features of mental disorders, and will be examined within the DSM-5 diagnostic system. Each disorder category will be discussed with case examples on its symptoms, etiology and intervention strategies, in the light of the latest literature.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students will comprehend the basic phenomenology of psychopathology, learn the intricacies of mental state examination, recognize the symptomatology of mental disorders and distinguish their classification.
