Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to comprehend the geostrategic importance of Central Asia and to gain the ability to evaluate the relations of the Turkic World with Turkey.
Course Content: The course will focus on the historical political and economic process in Central Asia. In this context, the political situation of Central Asia under the leadership of the Tsarist Russia and the USSR will be examined. Then, the structure of the independent states, which started with the dissolution of the USSR, under nation-state structure and the problems of the nation-state in Central Asia will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) In this course, students will learn about the Turkic world in Central Asia with its historical, social, cultural, economic and political dimensions.
2) In this course, students will discuss Central Asia's position in contemporary international relations.
