Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to present the main notions of political science. He planned to understand and explain the changing political events in the country and the world. The aim of this course is to teach the main notions of political science, and at the same time it is a course preparing the following courses. Through this course one can understand political events using other disciplines.
Course Content: The following is a rather flexible schedule listing the topics to be covered during the semester. As an institutional rule, attendance is a must, and each student is expected to show up in class regularly, at a minimum of 80 % of the semester, to be allowed to take the Final Examination at the end of the semester. The lectures are given in Turkish predominantly, while English synonyms and or equivalents of each term also will be provided, especially for students from other departments. But English reading will often be given.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have knowledge of classical and contemporary sociological theories and the ability to evaluate these theories
2) Basic terms related to political science are taught. The student can make inferences about the political future.
3) Knows the concepts, theories and models related to social, political, legal and economic issues.
4) Uses scientific research methods with an interdisciplinary and multi-dimensional perspective.
5) Show that he / she has the competence to research, comment and analyze on the subjects related to the field.

4) Evaluate and discuss the events in interdisciplinary dimension, acquire knowledge and skills, conduct research using social sciences methods and follow the field
5) Political and social processes that take place in Turkey and in the world, able to solve problems and the causes of these problems, on the relationship of citizens with political structures reveals scientifically.
6) Uses leadership characteristics in the field of political science and International Relations with the consciousness of team work.
