Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: I. Get to know the basic concepts of research, II. Learn research methods and process, III. Learn data collection and data analysis methods, to explain the results of research with scientific methods IV. Have ability to form a research problem, V. Get the ability to evaluate the results of the research and to draw practical results and draw practical results, VI. Learn to prepare a research report, VII. Know how a scientific social science research can be conducted, and to be able to design and conduct research.
Course Content: In this course, planning, designing and conducting a scientific research in social sciences are discussed. The importance of research in social sciences, research methodologies used in the social sciences, preparing research design, literature review, data collection tools, data analysis methods, interpretation of research data are among the topics covered in the course. In addition, research ethics, writing the research report and writing thesis and article are the other topics to be covered in the course.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Learn and discuss the basic concepts of scientific research.
2) He / she masters scientific research processes and learns to plan a research related to social sciences including research problematic, research method and data analysis method.
3) To know scientific research methods and to choose the right method according to the research field.
4) Learn ethical principles and bibliography rules for thesis, scientific articles and research writing.
5) Be able to prepare a scientific report.
