Course Objectives: | The purpose of the lesson for each student; It is aimed that students will be informed about orthosis-prosthesis applications and become able to use orthosis-prosthesis in the rehabilitation of patients. |
Course Content: | This course covers pathomechanical situations where orthoses should be used, purposes of orthoses, lower and upper extremity orthoses and their rehabilitation, trunk orthoses and rehabilitation, solutions for the prevention and elimination of problems and complications that may be encountered with orthosis use, technical and biomechanical control of orthoses and causes of amputation, amputation levels, It includes congenital amputations, partial hand and foot prostheses, prostheses used according to upper and lower extremity amputation levels, static and dynamic adjustment of prostheses and billet-socket compatibility, control mechanisms, myoelectric prosthesis and amputee rehabilitation. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) They can decide on the orthosis indication for patient. 2) They know the possible complications of orthotic applications. 3) They become aware of different orthotic materials and ready-made products. 4) They can choose the appropriate orthosis to patients. 5) They know the parts that make up the prosthesis. 6) They know the complications that may occur due to amputation and prosthesis applications. 7) They can plan and implement an appropriate treatment program that will increase the effectiveness of orthosis and rehabilitation. 8) They can make evaluations before and after orthosis application. 9) They select the appropriate prosthesis for an amputee patient. |
