Course Objectives: | Teaching the characteristics of hearing, language and speech disorders |
Course Content: | Basic concepts in hearing, speech and language disorders, advantages of medical approach, advantages of psycholinguistic approach, assessment and intervention approaches. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students become aware of the distinction between speech and language. 2) Students learn the definition and classification of speech and language disorders. 3) Students become aware of the distinguishing features of different language disorders. 4) Students learn the differences between medical and psycholinguistic approaches. 5) Students learn basic assessment methods in language disorders. 6) Students learn to use natural language measures. 7) Students explain the possible causes of language disorders. 8) Students list the types of speech disorders. |
