Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to prepare students for professional working life by enabling them to use the general and professional knowledge, attitudes and skills acquired during their education in the clinical field and to exhibit the roles and functions expected from the graduate nurse at the highest level in order to provide safe and quality care services in health institutions.
Course Content: This course includes creating and implementing a care plan by participating in direct patient care at hospitals; determining the educational needs of patients and their relatives and making and implementing an education plan; improvement of communication, teamwork, problem solving skills and self-development; to be able to prepare an individual/patient-specific and comprehensive care plan using the evidence based practices with current literature; conduct case presentations and discussions under the guidance of the instructor.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Applies nursing care using evidence-based guidelines and nursing process in line with legal and ethical principles.
2) Communicates effectively with the individual / family / community and health care team members.
3) Realizes the education of patients and their relatives.
4) Provides solutions to ensure patient safety and quality improvement in the unit where he / she practices.
5) Uses scientific and up-to-date information in patient care practices, education and other material development and presentation activities.

1) Based on the qualifications gained in secondary education; Understand the concepts and concepts related to the field of health at the undergraduate level, and have advanced theoretical and practical knowledge supported by textbooks, application tools and other sources of current information in the field of health.
2) Knowledge of nature, source, limits, accuracy, reliability and validity of knowledge.
3) Uses the field-specific, advanced theoretical and factual knowledge acquired at the undergraduate level.
4) Interprets, evaluates, identifies, analyzes, shares information and makes team work by using the advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field of health.
5) Use computer programs, related technologies and educational tools related to the field of health.
6) Carries out a study independently by using his advanced knowledge on the field of health and takes responsibility as a team member in cooperation with other professional groups working in this field.
7) Takes responsibility as an individual and team member to solve complex and unpredictable problems encountered in applications related to health field.
8) Plans, manages and monitors and evaluates the activities for the development of the employees working under their responsibility.
9) Evaluates the advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field of health with a critical approach.

16) Uses information and communication technologies together with computer software at the Advanced Level of European Computer Driving License required by the field.

18) Expresses himself / herself effectively verbally and in writing.
