Course Objectives: | It aims to give the importance of nutrition for human life and health, its definition, energy and nutrients, daily requirements, food sources, inadequacy situations in line with scientific studies. |
Course Content: | Adequate and balanced nutrition, the interaction of nutrients and health, the importance of macronutrients in nutrition, nutritional sources, their use in the body and daily requirements, energy, energy generation of energy substrates (carbohydrates, proteins and fats), energy requirements suitable for age and gender, vitamins and minerals importance in nutrition, classification, food sources, use in the body, daily requirements; The role of the nurse in the nutrition support team, nutrition in pregnancy and lactation, breast milk constitute the content of this course. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the basic concepts of nutrition 2) Explains the nutrients and their use in the body 3) Understands the importance of regular and balanced nutrition 4) Sorts foods in terms of macro and micronutrient content. 5) Understands the importance of macro and micro nutrients 6) Understands the importance of nutrition during pregnancy and lactation. 7) Learns the role of the nurse in the nutrition team. |
